merde-bar — MERDE status bar

SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION

merde-bar provides the top panel for a MERDE session. It shows workspaces, local time, CPU and memory use, and aggregate network transfer rates. It reserves its screen edge through the layer-shell protocol and refreshes when session state changes or once per second.

The program is normally started and managed by merde(1).

The bar reads the versioned, atomically replaced state.txt interface documented by merde(1). It ignores records and fields it does not use.

ENVIRONMENT

WAYLAND_DISPLAY

Selects the Wayland display.

MERDE_RUNTIME_DIR

Locates the MERDE state.txt file.

EXIT STATUS

The merde-bar utility exits 0 on success, and >0 if an error occurs.

DIAGNOSTICS

Startup and Wayland failures are written to the MERDE session log described by merde(1).
